Newlans seeks an experienced microwave/millimeter-wave engineer for supporting evaluation board development and test of complex multi-function RF modules. The candidate will be responsible for development and troubleshooting of evaluation boards for advanced electronic modules including power amplifiers, duplexers, mixers, switches, and frequency generation circuits. The candidate must also provide technical support to manufacturing partners to resolve assembly and test issues. This role requires close collaboration with internal partners and external customers. Strong background in wireless technologies like LTE/CDMA and a thorough understanding of RF design and measurement techniques is essential.
Additional Responsibilities: RF Lab Network support, Test Equipment maintenance/equipment calibration, Reporting (Specification Development, Schematic Diagrams, Test Reports, Technical White Papers, weekly updates/status). Travel Requirement is approximately 10-20%.
Education: Minimum BSEE (Bachelors in Electrical Engineering); MSEE is a plus.
Experience: 5+ years experience in Wireless Product Development, RF Design or Telecom industry preferred.
Required Skills: Link budget/system level analysis of IP2/IP3, Noise, IL and blocking. Ability to troubleshoot and analyze impacts of noise, coupling, ESD, matching, and VSWR on the design. Strong understanding of wire bond, flip chip and/or WLCSP design. Strong understanding and practical expertise of on-die, on-module, in-package coupling mechanisms is required, including modeling and simulation using RLC models or EM models at the die and package level. Demonstrated experience debugging, resolving and applying techniques to mitigate analog/RF/mixed signal noise issues linked to RF coupling and fast analog/digital transients. Proficiency in board/module/package-level schematic entry, layout, and fabrication, as well as CAD/CAE/CAM tools like OrCAD/DxDesigner and PowerPCB/Boardstation. Knowledge of Cadence Spectre (RF) and ADS simulation tools is desirable. Knowledgeable of all RF parameters such as insertion loss, return loss, harmonics under VSWR, compression, IMD, IP3 and noise figure. Strong hands on use of lab equipment including signal generators, RF sources, oscilloscopes, power amplifiers, filters, diplexers, spectrum analyzer, power sensors and VNAs is required.
Demonstrated experience in working in a dynamic, team based environment. Demonstrated ability to coordinate the efforts of other engineers and technicians. Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot designs and resolve integration issues. Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good organizational skills, and a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
